The Members section of the QB2C support website is for members only. This section has a modest membership fee of $100/year (US) or $10/month (US). All billing will be Credit Card only, lowing our overhead. We do not prorate, so start month-to-month if you are not sure you will need advanced help in programming, faster return EMAILs, or more advanced samples. Membership is not manatory. Why a fee? This area will give you access to hours of work, ideas and more. It also entittles you to an EMAIL address that will get you a return EMAIL a lot faster (sometimes less than an hour, BUT faster than the non-member section). Proceeds will go toward the website hosting, design and probably portions will be paid to the authors, to keep the product growing in features not normally found in BASIC. It would be nice to see sockets and SQL built-in and not a set of subroutines you have to include and call from your program. If you are not interested, simply press the BACK button of your browser. As a member, this does not mean we will spend hours EMAILing you or writing your code, it gets you advanced help with problems in the QB2C and Unix environment, small fragments of code and more if timing is good for the tech. The support group has more that 50 years combined experience in computer programming. They cover Windows, DOS, MAC and UNIX. Note, they work regular jobs and support of QB2C is in their spare time. Any Unix admin or programmer knows that $100/HOUR is a fair price, so $100/year sounds like a bargan. You might even be told to call us on the phone if it will speed or clear issues up quicker (only if you prefer). There are no guarantees with membership, just more advanced code fragments and faster support. Are there any discounts? Well, not really, as $100/year is a bargan. If questions sound fair they will be answered and we do reserve the right to tell someone they are abusing our system. HOWEVER, we are looking for other support people and if you qualify, or help moderate our forums (later to be announced) we would be willing to wave this fee. Also, if you upload a program our team feels is useful for our members, we will wave 1/2 the cost. Send 2 and the fee is waved completely. More than 2 program, the fee is waved and thanks for your support. |
